Job Description:
Join one of Australia’s leading research and teaching universities! The School of Psychology at UNSW is seeking a Research Associate to contribute to research efforts focusing on PTSD and grief. The role involves conducting systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and managing the Traumatic Stress Clinic, including data management, ethics submissions, and liaison with international research teams.
Roles and Responsibilities:
● Conduct systematic searches, meta-analyses, and synthesise data on PTSD and grief.
● Collaborate with international research teams and manage databases.
● Oversee Traumatic Stress Clinic operations, including assessments and treatments.
● Prepare manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication.
● Participate in and present at relevant conferences and workshops.
● Assist with the supervision of research students.
● Ensure compliance with UNSW’s Code of Conduct and health & safety policies.
Duration: Fixed term – 2 years
Joining Date: As per mutual agreement after selection
Eligibility Criteria:
● A Master’s or PhD in a related discipline, and relevant experience in the fields of systematic reviews and meta-analyses, especially in the fields of PTSD and grief. ● Demonstrated experience with the literature on grief and PTSD. ● Demonstrated ability to synthesise literature following systematic review format.
● Demonstrated ability to work with others in the conduct of systematic reviews and meta-analyses.
● Demonstrated experience working in a research management role and specifically in managing research activities in the fields of PTSD or grief. ● Proven commitment to proactively keeping up to date with discipline knowledge and developments.
● Demonstrated ability to undertake high-quality academic research and conduct independent research with limited supervision.
● Demonstrated track record of publications and conference presentations relative to the opportunity.
● Demonstrated ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines and build effective relationships.
● Evidence of highly developed interpersonal skills.
● Demonstrated ability to communicate and interact with a diverse range of stakeholders and students.
● An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
● Knowledge of health & safety (psychosocial and physical) responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
Salary: $110k – $117k plus 17% superannuation and annual leave loading
