Job Summary:
Vidyashilp Academy is hiring a Senior Behavioural Counsellor to lead the school’s behavioural counselling program. The role requires a passionate, experienced professional to supervise a team, implement behavioural support systems, and manage student interventions related to emotional, behavioural, and social well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Oversight
● Lead and manage the behavioural counselling team
● Supervise and mentor counsellors, interns, and support staff
● Design and execute school-wide behavioural frameworks
● Act as liaison between counselling staff and school leadership
Counselling & Intervention
● Conduct individual and group counselling sessions
● Develop Behavioural Intervention Plans (BIPs) in collaboration with staff and parents ● Provide crisis intervention and conflict resolution
● Work with teachers and special educators to identify students in need ● Coordinate with families and external professionals
● Lead regular case conferences for high-risk students
Training & Development
● Conduct workshops and awareness programs for students, staff, and parents ● Evaluate counselling interventions and refine practices
● Stay updated with the latest trends in child and adolescent mental health
Reporting
● Maintain confidential session records and progress notes
● Submit behavioural health trend reports to school leadership
● Ensure adherence to ethical and legal counselling standards
Qualifications:
● PhD or Master’s degree in Psychology, Counselling, or related field ● Valid counselling certification or license
● Minimum 5 years of school counselling or clinical experience, preferably with leadership responsibilities
● Hands-on experience with ADHD, dyslexia, anxiety, and related concerns
