Job Description:
India Autism Centre (IAC) is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Research Assistant to join our dynamic research team in Kolkata. The position will support our project titled “Adaptation and Validation Of A Phenotypic Test Battery for Autistic Children and Young People in India” and contribute to the IAC’s ongoing research efforts aimed at facilitating greater inclusion of profoundly autistic individuals in autism research. The successful candidate will work closely with the Research Director (Prof. Bhismadev Chakrabarti) and the research team, administering assessments, managing data, and supporting research initiatives.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Data Collection:
● Administer psychometric and computer-based assessments to individuals with and without neurodevelopmental conditions
● Conduct questionnaires with parents and trainers (training provided) ● Conduct experiments under supervision
Data Management:
● Securely store data, tabulate, and clean it for analysis
Support Functions:
● Assist with the preparation and organisation of assessment materials
● Schedule and coordinate data collection with parents and trainers
● Assist in the preparation of research reports and analysis of data under supervision
● Conduct literature reviews as required
Documentation, Reporting, & Meetings:
● Maintain detailed records of procedures and results
● Communicate regularly with the research coordinator
● Attend weekly team meetings and submit weekly reports
Equipment and Resource Management:
● Ensure proper use and maintenance of research equipment

Eligibility Criteria:
● Master’s degree in psychology or related field preferred; exceptional candidates with a bachelor’s degree and high performance/relevant experience will be considered
● Experience in conducting psychological assessments is required
● Prior experience working with children and adults with neurodevelopmental conditions is an advantage
● Proficiency in English, Bengali, and Hindi
